Great Northern Timber is committed to sound environmental and forest management practices. Supplier's follow a GNT implemented Code of Practice, while Provincial legislation has taken a proactive approach to sustainability.
The major land owners that supply fibre to GNT have been SFI or FSC certified for several years. Great Northern Timber procures substantial amounts of fibre from these companies and has provided clients with certified fibre.
Great Northern Timber became FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody certified in 2010. SFI credits may be transferred to clients through the PEFC certification system.
